The webcams

Post by zorbas2 » Mon Nov 26, 2018 8:23 am

We may have had a breakthrough yesterday.
After many, many(!) hours of searching for the reason why the cameras would send a still image but no 'live' streaming was possible we spoke yesterday to an OTE technician. We did not really understand the problem and why it occurs but it seems that it is a problem from the OTE side.
In case you are technically interested, here what happened yesterday:
If the modem/router receives from the WAN side an IP which starts 100.x.x.x the cameras are not accessible live. If the IP is below that (ex.: 96.x.x.x) it works fine. So the camera in Kalogria is live again - at least for the time being until the modem/router gets again a wrong IP.
We then went to the camera in Agios Nikolaos and wanted to fix the problem there as well. There it was even more strange:
The modem/router showed in its interface an IP like 100.x.x.x but in fact the modem/router published an IP like 96.x.x.x !!
It seems that the problems started as soon as customers got connected to the new optical fibres.
However, we are finally one step further and keep chasing the case....

AgNik finally working again: http://www.agnik.de/live.php
In Kalogria we will replace the camera shortly for a better view and a better picture.
The cam for Stoupa beach will take some more days.
The camera in Kardamily will take a little longer as it was removed from its (high) pole and needs to be remounted...
