What a great response in defense of Ag Nik. It does boil down to what sort of holiday you are looking for. We will no doubt find ' our spot' and be very happy with it.
Thanks to all for the great hot tips.

Hi... We stayed at Ag. Nic quite a few years ago on a 'late availability' deal. Whilst we sort of hoping it would be Stoupa we were delighted with Ag. Nic. Sounds as if things haven't changed much at all. Charming, rustic and anything else you can think of. A geat place to recover from a nervous breakdown lol. :)

Its always good when you are pleasantly surprised and not disappointed and going by the very positive responses I can't wait to get there at the end of May. It all sounds very chilled and just the thing we are looking for. Keep the comments coming though- it is whetting my appetite as the day draws nearer to head to AgNik.

Ag Nik was the first place we stayed in the Peloponnese and is the reason we fell in love with the place initially. We stopped in a private villa, in between the harbour and the beach, it was BLISS! It is rustic, laid back and very different to Stoupa (which we also like). If you're wanting somewhere to totally unwind and relax then it's the perfect place...

ENJOY!

The first place we stayed when we first went to the Mani was Stoupa - loved it but discovered AG Nik on that holiday and totally fell for it's laid back, relaxed atmosphere. And when we bought our place nearby we spent winters in Ag Nik (Stoupa was deserted) welcomed by its residents. Ag Nik is a great, friendly village all year round. It's not a holiday resort, its a lovely, working village. Beautiful!

We are very lucky this year we are having a holiday in Stoupa in June and Ag Nik in September.
We ahve been to Stoupa about 5 or 6 times and always loved it. We have been to Ag Nik for the day but only went as far as the harbour. When we go to Stoupa in June we will go to Ag Nik and veture a little bit further. It looks like Ag Nik is between Stoupa and Ag Dimitrios so we will have plenty of choice in September.
