Interesting discussion regarding basil, so I Googled it and found this article, which also suggests some other plants that might help:

We have fly nets on the windows and use the electronic (buzzer) type of plug-in all around the house (as we don't like the idea of constantly living amongst chemicals).

I certainly think I might add a few pots of basil around the balconies to see if works! :)

One pot of basil and one pot of lavender in the boys room seems to have done the trick! But that's an interesting article you've linked through to julieg. Where can I find 'Catnip' in Kalamata? Or more importantly, what's it called in Greek?

We also have a number of the electronic thingies but they never seem to make the slightest bit of difference!
