Next Sunday arrival

Post by Buzzy » Sun Jul 03, 2011 12:31 pm

I hope to arrive in Agios Nikolaos next Sunday between 5-6 in the evening. Can you tell me if the supermarkets will be open then to stock up on any essentials? Thanks.

Also the super market next to the bakery. We returned fron Ag Nik this last Sunday staying in the Litsa. There is a Kettle various pots & pans also a toaster. Its a nice walk down into the village but watch out for the traffic .A 100yards ish or is that metres ish after the tall mast next to the telephone exchange on your right. You may discover a family of mother cat and two beatiful kittens please feed them if you can. Cat meat is sold in both supermarkets. Thankyou in advance. If you are hiring a car it is advisable to pay cash for the transaction.

This is an old post from 2008-but we never did hear if anyone else knew of Selenitsa Cat

When we were staying at Selinitsa apts in ag nik at end august/start september (2008) we were
adopted by the cat hopefully pictured above. If not it was a tabby type cat
with a bad cut behind its ear.

Mrs Retisna wondered if anyone has seen it recently and if it had its kittens.
Personally I suspect it was just fat given the number of people who were feeding
it. It probably made it up to the Litsa apartments as well.

Sorry Buzzy we were in the old block next to the pool. Air conditioning available but at extra cost. If you are given one of these wind the sunblind down as far as it will go and close the metal shutters. This helps to keep it cool. At night we kept the metal shutters open also the glass door and just closed the curtains. No T.V Who needs a T.V ? We certainly didn`t miss the T.V. Some of the organised trips are worth going on Possibly Olympia,Mystras,Monemvasia,Diros Caves. Air conditioned coach a Knowledgeable Guide ( Possibly Terry or Jane ) and a very good driver ( Yiorgis) These trips are quite long and tiring but well worth it. Have a wonderful holiday.

Sounds as though you had a wonderful time. You did well having your doors open and must not have been too bothered by mosquitoes then. My case is packed and I ready to roll.

We had one or two bites but no problems always use anthisan if bitten and neet deet for protection. also use a couple of those plug-in anti Mossy devices at night.
