Agios is definitely worth to have its own forum - here we go.

Remember most shops here in Greece CLOSE on Sundays. However as you pass through Stoupa stop at Katerinas (they break the law and open). You will not get anything in Ag Nik I think

Thanks Grocer, we are flying in with Thomas cook so stopping at Katrina's isn't an option will get up early for our breakfast stuff Monday. Will still need to know how the supermarkets are stocked for basics though.

Sorry to contradict The Grocer, but there are two supermarkets in Ag Nik which are open on Sundays. Katerina's which is past the big car park, and has a very good selection, and Koloveas which is right in the square by the harbour, and also has all the basics.

As for opening "illegally", the other (greek) supermarket in Stoupa (on the main road), is also now opening on Sundays.

Thank you The grocer and The Reiver. I thought it unusual that a supermarket wasn't open for at least part of the day Sundays. Thank you both for your information it helps a lot to have all this knowledge to tap into. We are looking forward to our holiday and the help from the cam board has made things a lot easier.
Dot and John :)

Katerina's has the better general selection but the small supermarket on the village square has the best bread. Both have a good selection of all the basics you will need for your stay.
For those who have not visited before there is no cash exchange in Ag Nik and if you have brought no euros with you it can be a long walk to Stoupa (as I found out to my cost). The "supermarket" in the square will take cards as will some of the tavernas.
