Can someone help me with advice about the easiest way to travel from Athens Airport to Agios Nikolaos

We arrive Athens at midday and thinking it might be possible to travel further the same day.
Is it possible to take a bus

Yes, first you get the transfer bus x93 to Athens bus terminal. From there it has several busses to Kalamata: http://www.zorbas.de/english/transfer_ktel.php
But probably you arrive too late in Kalamata for the bus to Ag. Nikolaos. So from there by taxi: http://www.zorbas.de/english/transfer_taxi.php
