Road Closure

Post by The Real Stoupaman » Tue Jun 09, 2015 11:58 am

Well done Agios Nikolaos - the road through will be closed to traffic from 8pm - 1am.
Traffic attempting to enter the village from the Stoupa end will find that the road is closed.
During the day it will be one way only, again from the Stoupa end.

Now...........if Agios Nikolaos can do this - come on Stoupa finger out, no excuses!!!!!!!!! :D

Stoupa sea front road was closed the same hours when we there in May, the trouble is that cars were left parked along the seafront after the closure, in my opinion any car left at 8pm should be towed away.

If there is a car parked up prior to 8pm is it really a problem ?
Surely the closure is to prevent movement for safety reasons ?
The best way is to prohibit movement, ie. its stuck there until after
the closure order ceases. Perhaps lockable road bollards would be
the answer.............

Before we get those I would vote for 'sleeping policemen' which would reduce the speed everywhere needed all year round...

Hi Grocer, the problem is that these cars are then moved through the evening making it unsafe, it would also be nice or the restaurants and bars to be allowed to spread out onto the road as in ag nic. If they were to locked in drivers would think twice about leaving them in situ after 8pm.
