Megapixel pictures (in this case 1,23Mpx) in high quality (low compression) are quite big files (~100 to 400kB). These files would cause very high webserver traffic if accessed by the same amount of users as we currently have on the webcam page.
Still I want to offer the possibility to access those files, but for to do that I need to ask for a fee covering the expences.
That's how the 'CamClub' came into my mind...
What we offer:
- Members will be able to browse freely the folder structure representing the last 7 days.
- Have a preview (high resolution but lower quality as in member area).
- We believe that the trustworthy club members will keep the login data secret.
What we ask for:
- CamClub members should be members of the camBoard too..
- You may save pictures to your hard disk, private use is allowed but no other.
- To cover increasing ISP bills a 6-months membership is 20.-- EUR
How does it work?
Easy, very easy! After you received your login data you'll be able to access the folder on our webserver in which the complete picture archive is stored. The look and feel is similar to the windows explorer but also a bit different... But, don't worry, It's much easier as for example navigating this site... ;-)
The password will be changed on the beginning of each quarter, and you'll get automatically a new password by email - except your membership has expired.
To become a member or to renew your membership you just need to transfer the amount of 20.-- EUR to our greek bank account. Alternatively you can send a cheque or bank note (EUR) in a letter. Make sure to add your correct email address in the comment field of the transfer form or to enclose it in your letter! Besides, a short notice by mail could be helpful. As soon as your membership fee has reached us, you will get an email with the needed login data.
Six months are not long enough? No problem:
- 12 months = 35.--EUR,
- 24 months = 60.-- EUR,
- 48 months = 120.-- EUR plus 12 month free! (I am optimistic, so go for it ;-))
