BA Profiteering (understandable?)

Post by Paul »

We had a flight booked with BA (LHR to KLX) for the 30th May 2021, 8 family members, which BA Cancelled in March this year. We were a little surprised since, at that time, everything looked on course for flights re-opening on May 17th. Since the booking was half term week we were unwilling to accept vouchers and settled for the refund which BA fulfilled promptly. Imagine our surprise when the flights were reinstated and on sale again but with an increase in price of approximately 72%! The return for 2 pax without hold luggage went from £491 to £846. I enquired from BA why the flight was cancelled and is now available and was told too few people on it originally but demand meant that it was now back on sale.
I feel sorry for the accommodation owners and car hire company in Stoupa that we had booked with and sincerely hope they have managed to fill our vacated bookings.
